II Forks Restaurant is a high-end steak and seafood restaurant located in Addison, Tx. The owner wanted to build a stand-alone restaurant that was inviting and had the feel of a grand manner house. With cost of construction as a major concern and consideration to the proposed complicated hip, ridge and valley roof desired, The Core Group designed the two-story structure using standard wood framing, incorporated with steel, to accommodate large seating areas without columns. Most walls are load bearing and any columns used, are hidden within those walls. Considering the nature of the active soils at this site, the chosen foundation system utilized a concrete slab-on-grade with perimeter/interior grade beams and piers.
