The Pappas family started their restaurant business in Houston, Tx around 1975 and eventually spread to over seven states. The Core Group was a big part in that expansion, having designed most of the restaurants in Texas. Their unique style of using salvaged construction materials to enhance the restaurant atmosphere was their trademark beyond the fantastic food. This method of construction was always a challenge for us. The Core Group incorporated this significant mix of old structural material with modern day materials to produce a unique structure. This particular restaurant used materials related to the southern Louisiana Cajun style. Most structures were wood framed combined with steel to achieve long span column-free spaces. The foundations varied from post-tensioned concrete slabs to pier and grade beam construction.
Our creative approach to design is unlimited in applying structural solutions to a variety of project types.
Conventional structures are typically given conventional solutions. The Core Group has a different philosophy.
To achieve the greatest efficiency in structural design and construction document preparation, The Core Group utilizes AutoCAD and Revit Structure to integrate all engineering and architectural disciplines.
Let’s work together and forge your dreams into reality. With over 35 years of experience in the field of structural engineering, we are ready to exceed your expectations.
